I've always liked unicorns, maybe because I know they're not real and horses scare me a bit, not sure why - I am sort of in awe of them. They're so (mostly) quiet, beautiful and powerful. In the Type 1 diabetes world, a blood sugar reading of 100 is called a unicorn. Why? Because it's a rare, "perfect" reading. So, I wish all of my T1D friends unicorns when I see them - which is not too often since we're pretty rare. Just like unicorns. I hope it stays this way.
When I was a tech recruiter, unicorns were hard to find candidates with very specific skills, finding them was definitely easier than blood sugar readings of 100. I hope it doesn't stay that way.
Side note, I drafted this post three days ago. Since then I've had two unicorns. Sweet!
